Hello: Welcome to Yoruba  Institute for Culture Web site!

My name is Chief R. Afolabi Akinfaderin, a Yoruba native from Ilutitun, Ondo State, in South West Nigeria. I am a cultural historian and a practitioner of Yoruba Religion (Orisa). My Deity is Olokun but initiated in to IFA priesthood. That makes me a Babalawo an IFA-High Priest. I come from a lineage of many generations of Awos. IFA is my medium of communication.

I have been teaching Yoruba Language and Culture for more than 20 years. Many of my students can be found in New York where I taught  at Far Rockaway and later at Learning Alliance of New York. When I moved to Baltimore in 2006, I continued to teach Yoruba Language, perform  Spiritual Divination and counsel clients.

My Western Education included a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Concordia University, Montreal Canada; Master of Science in Travel and Tourism from New York University, New York; Diploma in Airline Management and Travel Agency.

I have held senior management positions in corporations including General Manager Nigeria Airways; Marketing Director, Discover Africa; Customer Service Manager, LSG SKY CHEFS, La Guardia Airport and currently an Instructor with Baltimore City Community College, Baltimore, Maryland.

I am available for Spiritual counseling and divination.

You can contact me at Rafolabi@comcast.net

or call me at 443-759-9493.

Thanks, Chief Afolabi Akinfaderin
